Due to the situation affected by COVID19, many domestic and international conferences have been cancelled or postponed. Therefore, the opportunities of presenting the latest results and communicating with each other, for in particular young researchers including PhD students, have been highly limited. The International Symposium on Porous Materials 2020 (ISPM2020) will take place via online during November 6-7, 2020. The symposium is intended to provide a forum for researchers in East Asia to discuss recent developments in research and applications of porous materials including zeolites, mesoporous materials, MOFs, and so on. We have successfully organized the ISPM2019 in Tokyo.

ISPM2020 will consist of about 5 invited lectures and 20 oral presentations by young researchers and students.

The symposium aims at promoting the fundamental and applied studies on porous materials. The major topics of the symposium will be:
・Synthesis
・Characterisation
・Adsorption, Separation and Diffusion
・Computational and Theoretical Investigations
・Applications

We hope that this symposium will be the start of strengthening the relationship among East Asia, and building a next generation network.
